vegan school Uganda

The children in Lwamigabo village, Kassanda district, Uganda and surrounding areas have been able to attend school since May – some for the first time at ten years old – and begin learning to read and write.

This is a wonderful achievement. But there is so much more to do.

In August the school was closed for a month so, thanks to a generous friend, we were able to take advantage of the children’s absence and install new desks and benches in our classrooms last week.

As you may remember, Atlas Vegan Community School’s pupils have, up until now, been seated on the floor for their lessons, so they will be thrilled to find proper seats and desks to work at when they get back 😀

But that’s not all that happened last week!

We also got on with building our school kitchen so that our cook will no longer have to prepare meals in the rain!
