vegan school in Uganda

We are very excited to have been provided with a much-needed 5000 litre water tank! Here’s what we did last week at Atlas Vegan Community School in Uganda:

We built a solid base for the water tank that could hold its massive weight when full.

Look how solid this is! 😀

When the base was ready, we put the tank on top, and then attached a drainpipe from the classroom gutters to the tank. With this we will be able to collect so much rainwater to feed our growing beans and for hand-washing after visits to the latrine. This will save us so much money because we won’t have to buy water for these things.

And as if that wasn’t enough achievement for one week, we also finished the school kitchen structure so our cook will no longer be hindered by the weather when she’s preparing the school meals.

Look at this photo to get an idea of the scale of things and what we have achieved this year:

The rain’s arrived early this year so we thank God that we can now make the most of it. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, I don’t know if you can see from this photo but our Head Teacher has been planting some cassava trees in the field of beans.

For all of this we are so thankful. We thank God for all our supporters who have made this possible. Click here to donate if you want to.

God bless you.
