According to numerous child development experts and paediatricians, play improves the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children and young people. Free play, that is play which is not controlled by adults, is particularly important for children to develop

self-esteem
resilience
interaction and sharing
social skills
independence
curiosity
and learning to cope with challenging situations

Play is so important to optimal child development that it has been recognized by the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights as a right of every child.

But many of our pupils are growing up in extreme poverty. Lacking sufficient food and clothes, they certainly don’t have toys. That’s why we are so happy that Kindred Spirits Vegan Community in Ireland have bought our school some play apparatus. We thank God for these friends whose generous gift will do so much good for our children.
