The Atlas Vegan Community School’s teachers and children found cause for celebration this week when they received the TeachKind Compassionate School Award goodies from Peta.
As well as the award certificate, which will be proudly mounted on the classroom wall, the children received books teaching empathy and kindness to animals.
Like all children, the Atlas pupils love animals so their enthusiasm for these lessons is wonderful and after a busy morning learning about animals and drawing them, everybody’s ready for a yummy school dinner – much of which was also paid for with award money from Peta!
Rice, beans and posho (which is maize flour). Yum yum! These are the beans we grew right here by the way 🙂
